POINTUE CIRCULAR SAW
project overview.
Pointue is a collaborative product design project that explores a cohesive brand system for professional workshop tools. Each team member was assigned a specific tool within the Pointue range, with this project focusing on the design of a cordless circular saw.
Guided by the brand ethos, the project reimagines how precision, safety, and user experience can be integrated into contemporary power tools through form, ergonomics, and digital interaction.
design intent & system.
The Pointue circular saw is designed as a refined cutting system that balances power with control. A minimalist body language establishes visual consistency with the broader Pointue tool family, while ergonomic considerations prioritise comfort, balance, and adaptability for different users.
Adjustable grip angles, an optional front handle, and precise setup controls allow the tool to adapt to varied cutting tasks and working styles. The design focuses on reducing fatigue, improving confidence, and supporting long-term professional use.
interaction & safety features.
Digital interaction plays a key role in enhancing safety and usability. The integrated SafeGlance™ display provides real-time feedback such as blade information, battery status, RPM, and safety alerts, transforming the tool into an intelligent assistant rather than a passive object.
Additional features including laser guidance, built-in measurement references, and blade detection systems support accurate setup and confident cutting, reinforcing Pointue’s emphasis on precision-driven craftsmanship.
